Junior River City Garden Awards 2011

Whats Involved


  • Children are asked to grow the plants/seeds supplied and to add others they wish to grow. At least 3 different kinds of vegetables and 2 different kinds of flowers.
  • Each entrant is to have a garden at least 3 metres by 2 metres. Parts can be in different parts of the home garden.
  • Keep a diary of what you do with your garden
  • Set out your garden however you wish
  • Look after your plants
  • The Judge will try to visit your garden when you are at home and you can tell her/him about it.
  • Each garden will be awarded a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Merit Award if completed
  • A 'Best' prize may be awarded in each category
  • There will be a special competition for the best selection of 6 vegetables grown and the best pumpkin grown from seed or plant.

Individual Categories
  • Up to 7 years of age
  • 8-13 years of age

Remember to come in to Springvale Garden Centre and collect your starter pack after you have signed up!

Group entry starter packs are allocated one per group, not per number of people in the group and have a different starter pack to individual entries.
